Good news! DMBA maintained its No. 1 ranking in Utah’s 2014 Consumer Satisfaction Survey of “preferred provider organization” or PPO health plans.
Among respondents reporting overall satisfaction with their health plans, DMBA finished more than 20 percentage points ahead of the No. 2 health plan, maintaining the first-place ranking it’s held since 2009, when the state began reporting on PPO consumer satisfaction.
DMBA also ranked No. 1 or tied for first for satisfaction with quality of healthcare, doctor communication with patients, and customer service. It was No. 2 in satisfaction with its plans’ specialists and above the national average in satisfaction with personal physicians, getting care quickly, and getting needed care.
This is great news for our partners, including employers, providers, and participants. The report demonstrates our commitment to be the benefits administrator our customers expect and deserve.
How the survey was conducted
The data comes from an annual survey called the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) Health Plan Survey. The survey vendor selects a random sample from each health plan’s enrollment database. Selected members are mailed a survey. Utah’s averages are calculated using the health plans that participated in the survey.
CAHPS asks questions about the healthcare a member receives, including:
- Health plan ratings
- Healthcare ratings
- Doctor ratings
- Specialist ratings
- Getting care quickly
- Getting needed care
- Doctor communication
- Customer service
